剧情介绍
故事发生在新西兰一个独特的小镇，以一个失常的家庭为中心，影片由一个未成年人的故事，回家的故事以及古怪的哥特故事三部分构成。 听闻父亲死讯，一名享誉国际的战地记者保罗(马修麦克费狄恩)从欧洲赶回家乡参加葬礼，这是十七年来头一回踏上纽西兰故乡的土地，他的到访震惊到了兄长安德鲁，个性有天壤之别的两人只差没形同陌路。安德鲁是名虔诚的信徒，在半胁迫的态度下要求保罗留下料理父亲遗产善后，于是保罗来到父亲杰夫生前最爱去的秘密小屋，一个珍藏文学、美酒及哲学思考的藏书阁，当他开始清算遗物时，竟意外发现一名不速之客早已闯入，十六岁的希莉亚(Emily Barclay)趁人不注意时将此地变成自己幻想、写作、逃避现实的秘密基地，保罗坚持她得闪人，却没发现她正是昔日青梅竹马贾姬的女儿，所要面对的可能是亲身骨肉重逢？这究竟是喜还是悲呢？
