剧情介绍
马文.尤德尔是个有洁癖的作家，虽然其作品以爱情题材居多，但生活里他对待别人苛刻、爱挑剔，经常让人下不来台。所以说，他的人缘很差。他每天都到同一家餐厅的同一个座位吃同样的早餐，而且为他服务的也总是那位叫卡罗尔的女侍。马文的邻居西蒙是位艺术家，也是位同性恋者，在一次抢劫事件中受了伤。这些本无瓜葛的人却因西蒙的小狗走到了一起，每个人的生活也都发生了不小的变化......
本片是老戏骨 Jack Nicholson 第二次获得奥斯卡影帝之作，把喋喋不休的洁癖作家演得活灵活现；戏中互飙演技的 Helen Hunt 同样奥斯卡封后。
